Why the Fervor Against Joe Rogan Will End Badly for Liberals

I don’t think Joe Rogan is funny.

In fact, I think his comedy can be downright offensive.

I went with my fiancé (at his request) to see Joe Rogan perform standup in Tulsa, Oklahoma a few months ago. A joke that I found particularly crass ended something like this:

“People say to me, ‘so, you’ll say the r-word but not the n-word?’ I go, uh, yeah — I’m afraid of Black people, not retards!”

My mom is Black and I have two siblings with special needs.

I don’t know if I was more disgusted at the joke or at the raucous laughter that followed from the 99% white and able-bodied audience.

Still, I don’t think Rogan should be removed from Spotify, as a growing number of liberal critics have demanded.

I’ve heard several of Rogan’s interviews. He is actually fairly progressive on many key issues.

He’s in favor of marijuana legalization and supports gay marriage.

He believes the science of climate change, advocates for social welfare programs, and thinks…
